Zika Virus - Navo


  • Zika is a virus (germ) spread by certain kinds of mosquitoes. Most people (80%) who are exposed to Zika virus will not get sick. If they do get sick, symptoms usually start 2-7 days after being bitten by an infected mosquito and may include fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis (red eyes).
  • The Zika virus started in Brazil and a specific kind of insect. It starts with the yellow fever. The virus can infect Babies, Men and Woman. Most likely animals carry the virus around.
  • The disease started in Brazil and has nearly spread to 20 countries. There is no treatment or vaccine for the virus. The virus started to become common in April 2015. To aviod the virus use insect repellent and cover your arms with long sleeves. Stay away from all insects. 
  • Pregnant woman are most are risk because the virus defects the brains in unborn babies.
  •  Zika virus is primarily transmitted to humans by infected Aedes mosquitoes.
