- The American constitution was the number one law created in America, and it is the most important law too. The American Constitution was established in September 17, 1787 by the Constitutional convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was first ratified by a few number of representatives from each of the thirteen colonies to be agreed upon.
- When nine of the states of colonies had agreed upon the constitution, they created a federal union, and they created a federal government for that union. That government had started on March 4 ,1789, taking place of the Articles of Confederation. In 1789, the founding father changed the Articles into the Constitution.
- The constitution is the oldest federal constitution in use. Since, 1787 the American constitution has had 27 changes over the past years. The first ten of the changes or amendments were called the Bill of Rights.
- When the constitution was written in 1787, the Constitution had a preamble and seven main parts, called articles. The first article had stated that the congress would make the laws for the United States of America. The first article also states how congress will do their business and how they will make their laws.
- Article states that president, vice president and executive offices will carry out the laws that were made from the congress. This article says how the President and Vice President are elected, and who can be elected to these offices. The President and Vice President are elected for four years by a special Electoral college chosen by the states. The Vice President takes over as President if the President dies, resigns, or is unable to serve.
