- Diabetes is a condition or disease that causes your blood sugar to be higher or lower than usual.
- Diabetes can strike adults and children at any age.
- When you have Diabetes, your pancreas makes little or no insulin and your body prevent the insulin that your pancreas made to work.
- If the insulin can't get into your cells, it remains in your blood and causes your blood sugar to increase.
- Both high and low blood sugar can result in serious complications such as drowsiness, sleepiness and sometimes if so serious, death.
- When you have Diabetes, you are given a pen with a needle to inject insulin into your blood every time you eat.
