Why the state capital was moved to Washington D.C - AJ

  • Long ago Philadelphia was the first State to be America's state capital. The Federal Government thought about the State Capital and it's place.
  • The Government changed the state capital to Washington D. C.  They had thought the shape was not well and they focused ahead on how the capital should look like and be.
  • The Government had changed the capital because Philadelphia was on the border of our country and other countries want to kill the presidents so it would be easy for them to come and attack from their country.
  • The congress had agreed on where our capital was and the size of it's shape and place. Government thought it was safer because Washington D.C was in near the middle of our  country and it would be harder for other countries to attack from the border to the middle.
  • Once in Philadelphia in 1790 there was a vote and Washington D.C was selected and was agreed over government. A french man that used to be apart of the navy had came to America had laid out the building plans for the government and the other important buildings.
