Do immigrants have a right to public education - AJ

  • The United states of America has gone through some very massive changes in development. From it's high class nuclear weapons in our military to the end of segregation giving all rights for people of any color. The U.S is normally been known by many names such as the land of opportunity, or the country of liberty and freedom for everyone and all. This was true since the United States was ranked at the highest point in the circumstances of diversity including people of all colors. In the early 1900's many colored people would be separated and given unfair rights while light skinned people had received more and better resources and public treatment. A major problem that had been dealt with was that colored kids would get a worse education experience while the light skinned kids compared to the darker ones would have a more luxurious school and better resources along with the education. Many people think that even nowadays there is a newer problem erupting out of situations. This argument would be contradicting if whether immigrants should or should not be entitled to a public education.
  • Many parents, teachers, and guardians do believe that immigrated children have the right to a proper education as an citizen would. Especially, a mother in California would also strongly support that to. For Example,a boy named Francisco had just moved with his family from Spain into the United States, California because his parents had came for a better opportunity in making more money, so they each had received jobs causing them to come and make more money. They other wish was for their son to have a much better education than what he had in his old school, but the setback was that Francisco had known how to communicate basic things in English, but he had lots of trouble reading it. The good thing was that his parents could speak and read fluently, so he could learn more. Well, they had gotten settled at an apartment in San Jose', California. The first day of school had just ran around the corner and he got on his school bus to go to school, but he didn't talk to anyone at all. When he arrived at school everyone had introduced themselves and Fransisco spoke well and told the class and teacher everything about himself. The class was very nice to him and talked him and said their hellos since Francisco was a new student that came from a different country.
  • After everyone finished their conversations and their intro's to themselves the teacher had passed out tests to all of the students which was too see where the students stand at academically and also intellectually. All the students had to finish in the time of 45 minutes,so even through Francisco was struggling he still had to rush, so he had turned it in within those 45 minutes that the teacher had given the whole class. When Francisco's teacher had finished grading the test she sent it home with every student to let them show their parents. When Francisco's mom had seen that he gotten a big F with many questions wrong she knew that Francisco was going to need more help. The teacher had tried to help him keep up, but then after the first semester she had just given up and consulted with the principal who thought they should transfer him to a private school that was at a slower pace. The mom was angry because the school had a special help class for Francisco's grade and the other private school was run by Hispanic people. She had finally with a lot of push had forced the school to put her son in the special Education program at the school.
  • On the other hand, many parents believe that immigrants should not be entitled to a public education. For Example, some people believe that kids who are not yet citizens should not get the same educationally rights as citizens do. Parents believe that if schools keep allowing immigrants the United States might have more immigrants from foreign places than federal citizens. People also believe that it could attract more illegal immigrants to start entering the United States which could become a big issue. This could become serious because if illegal immigrants attend school they wouldn't pay taxes causing other citizens to have to pay for an illegal immigrants education without even knowing.
  • The U.S has been one of the most major countries because of what it's people have created. None of that couldn't have been created if it wasn't for the high standard education. The government has been trying to control the issue by coming to a reasonable solution.Would you choose to let immigrants have a right to public education, or would you be against it.
