Bloodhounds - Anita

  • Bloodhounds originated in Belgium and France and were originally bred as scent dogs to hunt larger prey such as wolves and deer.

  • Alternative names for Bloodhounds are St. Hubert Hounds and Sleuth Hound.

  • Their height ranges from 24-27 inches high up to their shoulders.

  • After their first year of life, Bloodhounds are considered to be adults-they are equivalent to 16 human years.

  • Breeding Bloodhounds for appearance didn't occur until the 19th Century
