Bloodhounds originated in Belgium and France and were originally bred as scent dogs to hunt larger prey such as wolves and deer.
Alternative names for Bloodhounds are St. Hubert Hounds and Sleuth Hound.
Their height ranges from 24-27 inches high up to their shoulders.
After their first year of life, Bloodhounds are considered to be adults-they are equivalent to 16 human years.
