Thanksgiving - Anita

  • The first Thanksgiving was held in the autumn of 1621 and included 50 pilgrims, 90 Wampanoag Indians and lasted 3 days.
  • Thanksgiving did not become a holiday until 200 years after it was first celebrated.
  • There was no turkey on the menu for the first Thanksgiving feast.
  • After a while, the Indians figured out that the pilgrims where preparing for a big feast and helped by hunting for deer.
  • Sadly, the friendship between the Indians and the pilgrims only lasted for one generation.
