Friesian Horse - Anita

  • The Friesian Horse is a solid muscled breed that stands from 15 hands to 17 hands. There manes, tails and lower legs are all thick.
  • Friesian Horses are a very rare breed. Only 1000 of them are found in both Canada and the United States.
  • They are popular carriage and dressage horses. Friesian Horses have a calm, steady and gentle personality.
  • Friesian Horses were used in The Civil War in the 17th century. Frisian Horses also had to be breed specifically black for the Civil War.
  • Only black Friesian Horses for sale can be registered, but very rarely chestnut colored ones are born. This only happens when the parents of the chestnut horse have a chestnut gene in them.
