Blue Footed Booby - Anita

• The Blue Footed Booby is a marine bird that is part Sulidae family.
• Blue Footed Bobbies are aptly named, and males take great pride in their feet for their feet are blue and help show off during mating rituals.
• The Blue Footed Booby population is located on the western coasts of Central and South America.
• Blue Footed Bobbies rest on land at night. When day breaks, they take to the air in search of sea food.
• Blue Footed Bobbies also use their webbed feet to keep their young protected and warm after they have hatched from their eggs.
• All half dozen or so Bobby species are thought to take their name from the Spanish name "bobo." This term means "stupid," which is what early Europeans thought of the bird's characteristics.
