Empire State Building - Anita

  • The Empire State Building is the famous world wonder that is 103 - story skyscraper located in Midtown, Manhattan, New York City and at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street.
  • The Empire State Building was built during the Great Depression ( 1930 - 1931 ) by William F. Lamb and Gregory Johnson.
  • Around 3,400 workers were involved in the construction of the Empire State Building, with official records showing 5 workers died.    
  • It took just 410 days to construct, build and finish the Empire State Building, quicker than anticipated.
  • The Empire State Building was officially opened on May 1, 1931 when President Herbert Hover turned the building's lights with the push of a button from  Washington D.C.
